Fee-Only Financial Planning for Young Families to Reduce Financial Stress and Prioritize Your Goals
Ongoing Financial Planning Services
Step 1
Get to Know You
I work closely with my clients, and the “get to know you” process goes more in-depth than most big box financial planning firms. Together, we’ll evaluate your values, goals, and priorities to help you align your money with your life.
Step 2
Build Your Plan
Once I have a clear understanding of your objectives and financial situation, I’ll review each aspect of your financial life from cash flow and investments to taxes and insurance, and go to work creating your unique financial plan.
Step 3
Plan Presentation
Even though we are working together in an ongoing capacity, the last thing I want is to leave you in the dark about your finances. When we initially work together to build your plan, I’ll go through a thorough plan presentation to ensure that you understand every recommendation I make. You can always expect this level of education in our engagement.
Step 4
Ongoing Consulting
Once your initial plan has been presented, you can expect to meet with me 2 -3 times per year. These meetings will focus on updating your strategy, navigating upcoming financial decisions, and tracking progress towards your goals. Investment management and tax preparation are included as optional service offerings.
Of course, life doesn’t always go according to plan. As your lifestyle shifts and your goals change, I’ll be with you to ensure your plan is keeping pace. In ongoing client relationships, the door is always open to reach out via email or phone, or to schedule a one-off meeting as needed.
As a fiduciary, all of my recommendations are legally obligated to be in your best interest.
Who is a fit for ongoing services?
I work with young families and individuals in their 30s and 40s who want to reduce their financial stress and clarify key decisions. To learn more about our ideal client type, click here.
We know it’s easier when as much of your financial life as possible is under one roof. So we offer investment management and tax preparation as optional services for our ongoing financial planning clients. Both are included in the cost of financial planning.
Investment Management
We’ll provide detailed investment advice regardless of where you want to hold your accounts. But if you’d like us to take the administrative work of managing your accounts off your plate, we can do that too.
Tax Preparation
In addition to working with you to reduce your lifetime taxes as part of the financial planning process, we can also file individual tax returns on your behalf.
Pricing
As a fee-only financial planner, I don’t earn a commission for selling products or receive any compensation for making referrals.
Our pricing is straightforward – an annual fee of $6,000 for couples or $4,800 for individuals. This cost includes optional investment management and tax preparation.
The fee is billed monthly or quarterly and can be paid by bank transfer, credit card, or from an investment account.
One Time Financial Planning Services
Comprehensive financial planning doesn’t have to mean working with someone ongoing. Although many of Still River’s clients find value in continued partnership, some families are open to managing their own financial lives but need a gut check as they face down several big decisions.
Most often, our one-time financial planning clients have questions about:
- Saving and investing effectively for their long term goals.
- Balancing multiple financial priorities including funding their children’s college education, saving for retirement, and preparing to care for aging parents in the future — all while enjoying their lives as a family while their kids are still in school.
- Ensuring they’re saving enough to retire comfortably.
Our one-time financial plan will clarify your goals and values, and build a clear path to help you achieve them.
Pricing: $4,500 for couples or $3,500 for individuals with half due up front and half due after our final meeting.
